The Human (FERM2) Fermitin Family Homolog 2 ELISA Kit measures Fermitin Family Homolog 2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human FERMT2 antibody. FERMT2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human FERMT2 Antibody is added and binds to FERMT2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated FERMT2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human FERMT2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Scaffolding protein that enhances integrin activation mediated by TLN1 and/or TLN2, but activates integrins only weakly by itself. Binds to membranes enriched in phosphoinositides. Enhances integrin-mediated cell adhesion onto the extracellular matrix and cell spreading; this requires both its ability to interact with integrins and with phospholipid membranes. Required for the assembly of focal adhesions. Participates in the connection between extracellular matrix adhesion sites and the actin cytoskeleton and also in the orchestration of actin assembly and cell shape modulation. Recruits FBLIM1 to focal adhesions. Plays a role in the TGFB1 and integrin signaling pathways.
