Human GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate Dehydrogenase) ELISA Kit
Human GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate Dehydrogenase) ELISA Kit
The Human (GAPDH) Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate Dehydrogenase ELISA Kit measures glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human GAPDH antibody. GAPDH present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human GAPDH Antibody is added and binds to GAPDH in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated GAPDH antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human GAPDH. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (abbreviated GAPDH) (EC 1.2.1.12) is an enzyme of about 37kDa that catalyzes the sixth step of glycolysis and thus serves to break down glucose for energy and carbon molecules. In addition to this long established metabolic function, GAPDH has recently been implicated in several non-metabolic processes, including transcription activation, initiation of apoptosis,ER to Golgi vesicle shuttling, and fast axonal, or axoplasmic transport. In sperm, a testis-specific isoenzyme GAPDHS is expressed Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
