Human GCGR (Glucagon Receptor) ELISA Kit
Human GCGR (Glucagon Receptor) ELISA Kit
The Human (GCGR) Glucagon Receptor ELISA Kit measures Glucagon Receptor in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human GCGR antibody. GCGR present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human GCGR Antibody is added and binds to GCGR in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated GCGR antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human GCGR. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
G-protein coupled receptor for glucagon that plays a central role in the regulation of blood glucose levels and glucose homeostasis. Regulates the rate of hepatic glucose production by promoting glycogen hydrolysis and gluconeogenesis. Plays an important role in mediating the responses to fasting. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of down-stream effectors, such as adenylate cyclase. Promotes activation of adenylate cyclase. Besides, plays a role in signaling via a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
