Human GFER (Fad-linked Sulfhydryloxidase Alr) ELISA Kit
Human GFER (Fad-linked Sulfhydryloxidase Alr) ELISA Kit
The Human (GFER) Fad-linked Sulfhydryloxidase Alr ELISA Kit measures Fad-Linked Sulfhydryl Oxidase ALR in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human GFER antibody. GFER present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human GFER Antibody is added and binds to GFER in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated GFER antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human GFER. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
[Isoform 1]: FAD-dependent sulfhydryl oxidase that regenerates the redox-active disulfide bonds in CHCHD4/MIA40, a chaperone essential for disulfide bond formation and protein folding in the mitochondrial intermembrane space. The reduced form of CHCHD4/MIA40 forms a transient intermolecular disulfide bridge with GFER/ERV1, resulting in regeneration of the essential disulfide bonds in CHCHD4/MIA40, while GFER/ERV1 becomes re-oxidized by donating electrons to cytochrome c or molecular oxygen. [Isoform 2]: May act as an autocrine hepatotrophic growth factor promoting liver regeneration. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
