Human GFM1 (Elongation Factor G, Mitochondrial) ELISA Kit
Human GFM1 (Elongation Factor G, Mitochondrial) ELISA Kit
The Human (GFM1) Elongation Factor G, Mitochondrial ELISA Kit measures Elongation factor G, mitochondrial in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human GFM1 antibody. GFM1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human GFM1 Antibody is added and binds to GFM1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated GFM1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human GFM1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Mitochondrial GTPase that catalyzes the GTP-dependent ribosomal translocation step during translation elongation. During this step, the ribosome changes from the pre-translocational (PRE) to the post-translocational (POST) state as the newly formed A-site-bound peptidyl-tRNA and P-site-bound deacylated tRNA move to the P and E sites, respectively. Catalyzes the coordinated movement of the two tRNA molecules, the mRNA and conformational changes in the ribosome. Does not mediate the disassembly of ribosomes from messenger RNA at the termination of mitochondrial protein biosynthesis. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
