The Human (GHR) Growth Hormone Receptor ELISA Kit measures Growth Hormone Receptor in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human GHR antibody. GHR present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human GHR Antibody is added and binds to GHR in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated GHR antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human GHR. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Receptor for pituitary gland growth hormone involved in regulating postnatal body growth. On ligand binding, couples to the JAK2/STAT5 pathway (By similarity). The soluble form (GHBP) acts as a reservoir of growth hormone in plasma and may be a modulator/inhibitor of GH signaling.
