The Human (GLRX3) Glutaredoxin 3 ELISA Kit measures Glutaredoxin 3 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human GLRX3 antibody. GLRX3 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human GLRX3 Antibody is added and binds to GLRX3 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated GLRX3 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human GLRX3. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Together with BOLA2, acts as a cytosolic iron-sulfur (Fe-S) cluster assembly factor that facilitates [2Fe-2S] cluster insertion into a subset of cytosolic proteins (PubMed: 26613676, PubMed: 27519415). Acts as a critical negative regulator of cardiac hypertrophy and a positive inotropic regulator (By similarity). Required for hemoglobin maturation (PubMed: 23615448).
