Human GLUD1 (Glutamate Dehydrogenase 1, Mitochondrial) ELISA Kit

Human GLUD1 (Glutamate Dehydrogenase 1, Mitochondrial) ELISA Kit

The Human (GLUD1) Glutamate Dehydrogenase 1, Mitochondrial ELISA Kit measures Glutamate Dehydrogenase 1, Mitochondrial in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human GLUD1 antibody. GLUD1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human GLUD1 Antibody is added and binds to GLUD1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated GLUD1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human GLUD1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Mitochondrial glutamate dehydrogenase that catalyzes the conversion of L-glutamate into alpha-ketoglutarate. Plays a key role in glutamine anaplerosis by producing alpha-ketoglutarate, an important intermediate in the tricarboxylic acid cycle (PubMed: 11032875, PubMed: 16959573, PubMed: 11254391, PubMed: 16023112). Plays a role in insulin homeostasis (PubMed: 9571255, PubMed: 11297618). May be involved in learning and memory reactions by increasing the turnover of the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
