Human GPI (Glucose-6-phosphate Isomerase) ELISA Kit

Human GPI (Glucose-6-phosphate Isomerase) ELISA Kit

The Human (GPI) Glucose-6-phosphate Isomerase ELISA Kit measures Glucose-6-Phosphate Isomerase in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human GPI antibody. GPI present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human GPI Antibody is added and binds to GPI in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated GPI antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human GPI. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background In the cytoplasm, catalyzes the conversion of glucose-6-phosphate to fructose-6-phosphate, the second step in glycolysis, and the reverse reaction during gluconeogenesis (PubMed: 28803808). Besides it's role as a glycolytic enzyme, also acts as a secreted cytokine: acts as an angiogenic factor (AMF) that stimulates endothelial cell motility (PubMed: 11437381). Acts as a neurotrophic factor, neuroleukin, for spinal and sensory neurons (PubMed: 3352745, PubMed: 11004567). It is secreted by lectin-stimulated T-cells and induces immunoglobulin secretion (PubMed: 3352745, PubMed: 11004567). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
