Human GPX6 (Glutathione Peroxidase 6) ELISA Kit
Human GPX6 (Glutathione Peroxidase 6) ELISA Kit
The Human (GPX6) Glutathione Peroxidase 6 ELISA Kit measures Glutathione peroxidase 6 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human GPX6 antibody. GPX6 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human GPX6 Antibody is added and binds to GPX6 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated GPX6 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human GPX6. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Glutathione peroxidase 6 (GPx-6) is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the GPX6 gene. This gene product belongs to the glutathione peroxidase family, which functions in the detoxification of hydrogen peroxide. It contains a selenocysteine (Sec) residue at its active site. The selenocysteine is encoded by the UGA codon, which normally signals translation termination. The 3' UTR of Sec-containing genes have a common stem-loop structure, the sec insertion sequence (SECIS), which is necessary for the recognition of UGA as a Sec codon rather than as a stop signal. Expression of this gene is restricted to embryos and adult olfactory epithelium. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
