Human GRIA1 (Glutamate Receptor 1) ELISA Kit

Human GRIA1 (Glutamate Receptor 1) ELISA Kit

The Human (GRIA1) Glutamate Receptor 1 ELISA Kit measures Glutamate Receptor 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human GRIA1 antibody. GRIA1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human GRIA1 Antibody is added and binds to GRIA1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated GRIA1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human GRIA1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Ionotropic glutamate receptor. L-glutamate acts as an excitatory neurotransmitter at many synapses in the central nervous system. Binding of the excitatory neurotransmitter L-glutamate induces a conformation change, leading to the opening of the cation Channel, and thereby converts the chemical signal to an electrical impulse. The receptor then desensitizes rapidly and enters a transient inactive state, characterized by the presence of bound agonist. In the presence of CACNG4 or CACNG7 or CACNG8, shows resensitization which is characterized by a delayed accumulation of current flux upon continued application of glutamate.
