Human HDAC4 (Histone Deacetylase 4) ELISA Kit
Human HDAC4 (Histone Deacetylase 4) ELISA Kit
The Human (HDAC4) Histone Deacetylase 4 ELISA Kit measures Histone Deacetylase 4 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human HDAC4 antibody. HDAC4 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human HDAC4 Antibody is added and binds to HDAC4 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated HDAC4 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human HDAC4. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Responsible for the deacetylation of lysine residues on the N-terminal part of the core histones (H2A, H2B, H3 and H4). Histone deacetylation gives a tag for epigenetic repression and plays an important role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression and developmental events. Histone deacetylases act via the formation of large multiprotein complexes. Involved in muscle maturation via its interaction with the myocyte enhancer factors such as MEF2A, MEF2C and MEF2D. Involved in the MTA1-mediated epigenetic regulation of ESR1 expression in breast cancer. Deacetylates HSPA1A and HSPA1B at 'Lys-77' leading to their preferential binding to co-chaperone STUB1 (PubMed: 27708256). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
