Human HTR3A (5-Hydroxytryptamine Receptor 3A) ELISA Kit
Human HTR3A (5-Hydroxytryptamine Receptor 3A) ELISA Kit
The Human (HTR3A) 5-Hydroxytryptamine Receptor 3A ELISA Kit measures 5-Hydroxytryptamine Receptor 3A in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human HTR3A antibody. HTR3A present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human HTR3A Antibody is added and binds to HTR3A in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated HTR3A antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human HTR3A. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
This is one of the several different receptors for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. This receptor is a ligand-gated ion Channel, which when activated causes fast, depolarizing responses in neurons. It is a cation-specific, but otherwise relatively nonselective, ion Channel.
