Human ICAM-2 (Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 2) ELISA Kit
The Human (ICAM-2) Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 2 ELISA Kit measures Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human ICAM2 antibody. ICAM2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human ICAM2 Antibody is added and binds to ICAM2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ICAM2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human ICAM2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

ICAM proteins are ligands for the leukocyte adhesion protein LFA-1 (integrin alpha-L/beta-2). ICAM2 may play a role in lymphocyte recirculation by blocking LFA-1-dependent cell adhesion. It mediates adhesive interactions important for antigen-specific immune response, NK-cell mediated clearance, lymphocyte recirculation, and other cellular interactions important for immune response and surveillance.
