The Human (NENF) Neudesin ELISA Kit measures Neudesin in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human NENF antibody. NENF present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human NENF Antibody is added and binds to NENF in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated NENF antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human NENF. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Acts as a neurotrophic factor in postnatal mature neurons enhancing neuronal survival (PubMed: 31536960). Promotes cell proliferation and neurogenesis in undifferentiated neural progenitor cells at the embryonic stage and inhibits differentiation of astrocytes (By similarity). Its neurotrophic activity is exerted via MAPK1/ERK2, MAPK3/ERK1 and AKT1/AKT pathways (By similarity). Neurotrophic activity is enhanced by binding to heme (By similarity).
