The Human (OSBPL9) Oxysterol Binding Protein Like Protein 9 ELISA Kit measures Oxysterol Binding Protein Like Protein 9 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human OSBPL9 antibody. OSBPL9 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human OSBPL9 Antibody is added and binds to OSBPL9 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated OSBPL9 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human OSBPL9. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Oxysterol binding protein-like 9 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the OSBPL9 gene. This gene encodes a member of the oxysterol-binding protein (OSBP) family, a group of intracellular lipid receptors. Most members contain an N-terminal pleckstrin homology domain and a highly conserved C-terminal OSBP-like sterol-binding domain, although some members contain only the sterol-binding domain. This family member functions as a cholesterol transfer protein that regulates Golgi structure and function. Multiple transcript variants, most of which encode distinct isoforms, have been identified.
