Human SAFB (Scaffold Attachment Factor B1) ELISA Kit
Human SAFB (Scaffold Attachment Factor B1) ELISA Kit
The Human (SAFB) Scaffold Attachment Factor B1 ELISA Kit measures Scaffold Attachment Factor B1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human SAFB antibody. SAFB present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human SAFB Antibody is added and binds to SAFB in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated SAFB antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human SAFB. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Binds to scaffold/matrix attachment region (S/MAR) DNA and forms a molecular assembly point to allow the formation of a 'transcriptosomal' complex (consisting of SR proteins and RNA polymerase II) coupling transcription and RNA processing (PubMed: 9671816). Functions as an estrogen receptor corepressor and can also bind to the HSP27 promoter and decrease its transcription (PubMed: 12660241). Thereby acts as a negative regulator of cell proliferation (PubMed: 12660241). When associated with RBMX, binds to and stimulates transcription from the SREBF1 promoter (By similarity).
