Human SAT1 (Diamine Acetyltransferase 1) ELISA Kit
Human SAT1 (Diamine Acetyltransferase 1) ELISA Kit
The Human (SAT1) Diamine Acetyltransferase 1 ELISA Kit measures Diamine Acetyltransferase 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human SAT1 antibody. SAT1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human SAT1 Antibody is added and binds to SAT1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated SAT1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human SAT1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Enzyme which catalyzes the acetylation of polyamines (PubMed: 15283699, PubMed: 16455797, PubMed: 17516632). Substrate specificity: norspermidine = spermidine >> spermine > N(1)-acetylspermine > putrescine (PubMed: 17516632). This highly regulated enzyme allows a fine attenuation of the intracellular concentration of polyamines (PubMed: 16455797). Also involved in the regulation of polyamine transport out of cells (PubMed: 16455797). Acts on 1,3-diaminopropane, 1,5-diaminopentane, putrescine, spermidine (forming N(1)- and N(8)-acetylspermidine), spermine, N(1)-acetylspermidine and N(8)-acetylspermidine (PubMed: 16455797, PubMed: 17516632).
