Human SCARA5 (Scavenger Receptor Class A Member 5) ELISA Kit
Human SCARA5 (Scavenger Receptor Class A Member 5) ELISA Kit
The Human (SCARA5) Scavenger Receptor Class A Member 5 ELISA Kit measures Scavenger Receptor Class A Member 5 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human SCARA5 antibody. SCARA5 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human SCARA5 Antibody is added and binds to SCARA5 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated SCARA5 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human SCARA5. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Ferritin receptor that mediates non-transferrin-dependent delivery of iron. Mediates cellular uptake of ferritin-bound iron by stimulating ferritin endocytosis from the cell surface with consequent iron delivery within the cell. Delivery of iron to cells by ferritin is required for the development of specific cell types, suggesting the existence of cell type-specific mechanisms of iron traffic in organogenesis, which alternatively utilize transferrin or non-transferrin iron delivery pathways. Ferritin mediates iron uptake in capsule cells of the developing kidney. Binds preferrentially ferritin light chain (FTL) compared to heavy chain (FTH1). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
