Human SCG5 (Neuroendocrine Protein 7B2) ELISA Kit
Human SCG5 (Neuroendocrine Protein 7B2) ELISA Kit
The Human (SCG5) Neuroendocrine Protein 7B2 ELISA Kit measures Neuroendocrine protein 7B2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human SCG5 antibody. SCG5 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human SCG5 Antibody is added and binds to SCG5 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated SCG5 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human SCG5. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Acts as a molecular chaperone for PCSK2/PC2, preventing its premature activation in the regulated secretory pathway. Binds to inactive PCSK2 in the endoplasmic reticulum and facilitates its transport from there to later compartments of the secretory pathway where it is proteolytically matured and activated. Also required for cleavage of PCSK2 but does not appear to be involved in its folding. Plays a role in regulating pituitary hormone secretion. The C-terminal peptide inhibits PCSK2 in vitro.
