Human SIGLEC8 (Sialic Acid-binding Ig-like Lectin 8) ELISA Kit
Human SIGLEC8 (Sialic Acid-binding Ig-like Lectin 8) ELISA Kit
The Human (SIGLEC8) Sialic Acid-binding Ig-like Lectin 8 ELISA Kit measures Sialic acid-binding Ig-like lectin 8 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human SIGLEC8 antibody. SIGLEC8 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human SIGLEC8 Antibody is added and binds to SIGLEC8 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated SIGLEC8 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human SIGLEC8. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Sialic acid-binding Ig-like lectin 8 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SIGLEC8 gene. This gene is located on chromosome 19q13.4, about 330 kb downstream of the SIGLEC9 gene. Within the siglec family of transmembrane proteins, Siglec-8 belongs to the CD33-related siglec subfamily, a subfamily that has undergone rapid evolution. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
