Human SLC30A3 (Zinc Transporter 3) ELISA Kit

Human SLC30A3 (Zinc Transporter 3) ELISA Kit

The Human (SLC30A3) Zinc Transporter 3 ELISA Kit measures Zinc transporter 3 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human SLC30A3 antibody. SLC30A3 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human SLC30A3 Antibody is added and binds to SLC30A3 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated SLC30A3 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human SLC30A3. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Zinc transporter 3 also known as solute carrier family 30 member 3 is a protein in humans that is encoded by the SLC30A3 gene. The SLC30A3 gene codes for the ZnT-3 SLC30A family membrane transport protein. ZnT-3 is required for the accumulation of zinc ions inside synaptic vesicles. In mice, ZnT-3 is required for some forms of memory that depend on the hippocampus and the amygdala. Zinc transport by ZnT-3 modulates memory formation by acting through the extracellular signal-regulated kinases signaling pathway. Angiotensin II-induced senescence of vascular smooth muscle cells requires down-regulation of ZnT-3 and ZnT-10. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
