Human SLC6A4 (Sodium-dependent Serotonin Transporter) ELISA Kit
Human SLC6A4 (Sodium-dependent Serotonin Transporter) ELISA Kit
The Human (SLC6A4) Sodium-dependent Serotonin Transporter ELISA Kit measures Sodium-dependent serotonin transporter in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human SLC6A4 antibody. SLC6A4 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human SLC6A4 Antibody is added and binds to SLC6A4 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated SLC6A4 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human SLC6A4. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Serotonin transporter whose primary function in the central nervous system involves the regulation of serotonergic signaling via transport of serotonin molecules from the synaptic cleft back into the pre-synaptic terminal for re-utilization. Plays a key role in mediating regulation of the availability of serotonin to other receptors of serotonergic systems. Terminates the action of serotonin and recycles it in a sodium-dependent manner.
