Human SPINK5 (Serine Protease Inhibitor Kazal-type 5) ELISA Kit
Human SPINK5 (Serine Protease Inhibitor Kazal-type 5) ELISA Kit
The Human (SPINK5) Serine Protease Inhibitor Kazal-type 5 ELISA Kit measures Serine Protease Inhibitor Kazal-Type 5 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human SPINK5 antibody. SPINK5 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human SPINK5 Antibody is added and binds to SPINK5 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated SPINK5 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human SPINK5. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Serine protease inhibitor, probably important for the anti-inflammatory and/or antimicrobial protection of mucous epithelia. Contribute to the integrity and protective barrier function of the skin by regulating the activity of defense-activating and desquamation-involved proteases. Inhibits KLK5, it's major target, in a pH-dependent manner. Inhibits KLK7, KLK14 CASP14, and trypsin. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
