Human STX8 (Syntaxin 8) ELISA Kit
Human STX8 (Syntaxin 8) ELISA Kit
The Human (STX8) Syntaxin 8 ELISA Kit measures Syntaxin 8 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human STX8 antibody. STX8 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human STX8 Antibody is added and binds to STX8 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated STX8 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human STX8. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Syntaxin-8 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the STX8 gene. Syntaxin 8 directly interacts with HECTd3 and has similar subcellular localization. The protein has been shown to form the SNARE complex with syntaxin 7, vti1b and endobrevin. These function as the machinery for the homotypic fusion of late endosomes.
