The Human (SULF1) Extracellular Sulfatase Sulf-1 ELISA Kit measures Extracellular Sulfatase Sulf-1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human SULF1 antibody. SULF1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human SULF1 Antibody is added and binds to SULF1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated SULF1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human SULF1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Exhibits arylsulfatase activity and highly specific endoglucosamine-6-sulfatase activity. It can remove sulfate from the C-6 position of glucosamine within specific subregions of intact heparin. Diminishes HSPG (heparan sulfate proteoglycans) sulfation, inhibits signaling by heparin-dependent growth factors, diminishes proliferation, and facilitates apoptosis in response to exogenous stimulation.
