Human TGM3 (Protein-glutamine Gamma-glutamyltransferase E) ELISA Kit
Human TGM3 (Protein-glutamine Gamma-glutamyltransferase E) ELISA Kit
The Human (TGM3) Protein-glutamine Gamma-glutamyltransferase E ELISA Kit measures Protein-Glutamine Gamma-Glutamyltransferase E in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human TGM3 antibody. TGM3 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human TGM3 Antibody is added and binds to TGM3 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated TGM3 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human TGM3. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Catalyzes the calcium-dependent formation of isopeptide cross-links between glutamine and lysine residues in various proteins, as well as the conjugation of polyamines to proteins. Involved in the formation of the cornified envelope (CE), a specialized component consisting of covalent cross-links of proteins beneath the plasma membrane of terminally differentiated keratinocytes. Catalyzes small proline-rich proteins (SPRR1 and SPRR2) and LOR cross-linking to form small interchain oligomers, which are further cross-linked by TGM1 onto the growing CE scaffold (By similarity). In hair follicles, involved in cross-linking structural proteins to hardening the inner root sheath. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
