The Human (TLR1) Toll-like Receptor 1 ELISA Kit measures Toll-Like Receptor 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human TLR1 antibody. TLR1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human TLR1 Antibody is added and binds to TLR1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated TLR1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human TLR1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Participates in the innate immune response to microbial agents. Specifically recognizes diacylated and triacylated lipopeptides. Cooperates with TLR2 to mediate the innate immune response to bacterial lipoproteins or lipopeptides (PubMed: 21078852). Forms the activation cluster TLR2:TLR1:CD14 in response to triacylated lipopeptides, this cluster triggers signaling from the cell surface and subsequently is targeted to the Golgi in a lipid-raft dependent pathway (PubMed: 16880211).
