The Human (TNNC2) Troponin C, Skeletal Muscle ELISA Kit measures Troponin C, Skeletal Muscle in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human TNNC2 antibody. TNNC2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human TNNC2 Antibody is added and binds to TNNC2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated TNNC2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human TNNC2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Troponin is the central regulatory protein of striated muscle contraction. Tn consists of three components: Tn-I which is the inhibitor of actomyosin ATPase, Tn-T which contains the binding site for tropomyosin and Tn-C.
