Human TRF (Transferrin) ELISA Kit
Human TRF (Transferrin) ELISA Kit
The Human (TRF) Transferrin ELISA Kit measures Transferrin in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human TF antibody. TF present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human TF Antibody is added and binds to TF in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated TF antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human TF. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Transferrins are iron binding transport proteins which can bind two Fe(3+) ions in association with the binding of an anion, usually bicarbonate. It is responsible for the transport of iron from sites of absorption and heme degradation to those of storage and utilization. Serum transferrin may also have a further role in stimulating cell proliferation. (Microbial infection) Serves as an iron source for Neisseria species, which capture the protein and extract its iron for their own use. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
