The Human (UNC5D) Netrin Receptor Unc5D ELISA Kit measures Netrin Receptor UNC5D in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human UNC5D antibody. UNC5D present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human UNC5D Antibody is added and binds to UNC5D in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated UNC5D antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human UNC5D. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Receptor for the netrin NTN4 that promotes neuronal cell survival (By similarity). Plays a role in cell-cell adhesion and cell guidance. Receptor for netrin involved in cell migration. Plays a role in axon guidance by mediating axon repulsion of neuronal growth cones in the developing nervous system upon ligand binding (By similarity). May play a role in apoptosis in response to DNA damage (PubMed: 24691657). It also acts as a dependence receptor required for apoptosis induction when not associated with netrin ligand (PubMed: 24519068).
