Human VAMP2 (Vesicle-associated Membrane Protein 2) ELISA Kit
Human VAMP2 (Vesicle-associated Membrane Protein 2) ELISA Kit
The Human (VAMP2) Vesicle-associated Membrane Protein 2 ELISA Kit measures Vesicle-Associated Membrane Protein 2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human VAMP2 antibody. VAMP2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human VAMP2 Antibody is added and binds to VAMP2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated VAMP2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human VAMP2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Involved in the targeting and/or fusion of transport vesicles to their target membrane (By similarity). Major SNARE protein of synaptic vesicles which mediates fusion of synaptic vesicles to release neurotransmitters. Essential for fast vesicular exocytosis and activity-dependent neurotransmitter release as well as fast endocytosis that mediates rapid reuse of synaptic vesicles (By similarity) (PubMed: 30929742). Modulates the gating characteristics of the delayed rectifier voltage-dependent potassium Channel KCNB1. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
