Human VHL (Von Hippel-lindau Disease Tumor Suppressor) ELISA Kit
Human VHL (Von Hippel-lindau Disease Tumor Suppressor) ELISA Kit
The Human (VHL) Von Hippel-lindau Disease Tumor Suppressor ELISA Kit measures Von Hippel-Lindau disease tumor suppressor in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human VHL antibody. VHL present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human VHL Antibody is added and binds to VHL in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated VHL antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human VHL. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Involved in the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation via the von Hippel-Lindau ubiquitination complex. Seems to act as a target recruitment subunit in the E3 ubiquitin ligase complex and recruits hydroxylated hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) under normoxic conditions. Involved in transcriptional repression through interaction with HIF1A, HIF1AN and histone deacetylases. Ubiquitinates, in an oxygen-responsive manner, ADRB2. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
