The Human (WNT9B) Protein Wnt-9B ELISA Kit measures Protein Wnt-9B in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human WNT9B antibody. WNT9B present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human WNT9B Antibody is added and binds to WNT9B in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated WNT9B antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human WNT9B. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Ligand for members of the frizzled family of seven transmembrane receptors (Probable). Functions in the canonical Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway. Required for normal embryonic kidney development, and for normal development of the urogenital tract, including uterus and part of the oviduct and the upper vagina in females, and epididymis and vas deferens in males. Activates a signaling cascade in the metanephric mesenchyme that induces tubulogenesis. Acts upstream of WNT4 in the signaling pathways that mediate development of kidney tubules and the Muellerian ducts.
