Mouse AFP (Alpha-fetoprotein) ELISA Kit
Mouse AFP (Alpha-fetoprotein) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (AFP) Alpha-fetoprotein ELISA Kit measures Alpha-fetoprotein in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse AFP antibody. AFP present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse AFP Antibody is added and binds to AFP in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated AFP antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse AFP. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP, α-fetoprotein; also sometimes called alpha-1-fetoprotein, alpha-fetoglobulin, or alpha fetal protein) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the AFP gene. The AFP gene is located on the q arm of chromosome 4 (4q25). Maternal AFP serum level is used to screen for Down syndrome, neural tube defects, and other chromosomal abnormalities.
