Mouse ALDH2 (Aldehyde Dehydrogenase) ELISA Kit
Mouse ALDH2 (Aldehyde Dehydrogenase) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (ALDH2) Aldehyde Dehydrogenase ELISA Kit measures Aldehyde dehydrogenase in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse ALDH2 antibody. ALDH2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse ALDH2 Antibody is added and binds to ALDH2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ALDH2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse ALDH2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Aldehyde dehydrogenase, mitochondrial is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ALDH2 gene located on chromosome 12. This protein belongs to the aldehyde dehydrogenase family of enzymes. Aldehyde dehydrogenase is the second enzyme of the major oxidative pathway of alcohol metabolism. Two major liver isoforms of aldehyde dehydrogenase, cytosolic and mitochondrial, can be distinguished by their electrophoretic mobilities, kinetic properties, and subcellular localizations.
