The Mouse (ASGR2) Asialoglycoprotein Receptor 2 ELISA Kit measures Asialoglycoprotein Receptor 2 in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse ASGR2 antibody. ASGR2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse ASGR2 Antibody is added and binds to ASGR2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ASGR2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse ASGR2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Mediates the endocytosis of plasma glycoproteins to which the terminal sialic acid residue on their complex carbohydrate moieties has been removed. The receptor recognizes terminal galactose and N-acetylgalactosamine units. After ligand binding to the receptor, the resulting complex is internalized and transported to a sorting organelle, where receptor and ligand are disassociated.
