Mouse ATG4C (Autophagy Related Protein 4C) ELISA Kit
Mouse ATG4C (Autophagy Related Protein 4C) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (ATG4C) Autophagy Related Protein 4C ELISA Kit measures Autophagy Related Protein 4C in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse ATG4C antibody. ATG4C present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse ATG4C Antibody is added and binds to ATG4C in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ATG4C antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse ATG4C. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Cysteine protease required for the cytoplasm to vacuole transport (Cvt) and autophagy. Cleaves the C-terminal amino acid of ATG8 family proteins MAP1LC3 and GABARAPL2, to reveal a C-terminal glycine. Exposure of the glycine at the C-terminus is essential for ATG8 proteins conjugation to phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) and insertion to membranes, which is necessary for autophagy. Has also an activity of delipidating enzyme for the PE-conjugated forms (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
