The Mouse (CD2AP) Cd2-associated Protein ELISA Kit measures Cd2-Associated Protein in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse CD2AP antibody. CD2AP present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse CD2AP Antibody is added and binds to CD2AP in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CD2AP antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse CD2AP. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Seems to act as an adapter protein between membrane proteins and the actin cytoskeleton (By similarity). In collaboration with CBLC, modulates the rate of RET turnover and may act as regulatory checkpoint that limits the potency of GDNF on neuronal survival. Controls CBLC function, converting it from an inhibitor to a promoter of RET degradation (By similarity). May play a role in receptor clustering and cytoskeletal polarity in the junction between T-cell and antigen-presenting cell (PubMed: 9741631). May anchor the podocyte slit diaphragm to the actin cytoskeleton in renal glomerolus (PubMed: 10514378). Also required for cytokinesis.
