Mouse CD68 (Macrosialin) ELISA Kit

Mouse CD68 (Macrosialin) ELISA Kit

The Mouse (CD68) Macrosialin ELISA Kit measures Macrosialin in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse CD68 antibody. CD68 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse CD68 Antibody is added and binds to CD68 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CD68 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse CD68. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Could play a role in phagocytic activities of tissue macrophages, both in intracellular lysosomal metabolism and extracellular cell-cell and cell-pathogen interactions. Binds to tissue- and organ-specific lectins or selectins, allowing homing of macrophage subsets to particular sites. Rapid recirculation of CD68 from endosomes and lysosomes to the plasma membrane may allow macrophages to crawl over selectin-bearing substrates or other cells. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
