Mouse CEL (Bile Salt-activated Lipase) ELISA Kit
Mouse CEL (Bile Salt-activated Lipase) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (CEL) Bile Salt-activated Lipase ELISA Kit measures Bile salt-activated lipase in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse CEL antibody. CEL present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse CEL Antibody is added and binds to CEL in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CEL antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse CEL. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Catalyzes the hydrolysis of a wide range of substrates including cholesteryl esters, phospholipids, lysophospholipids, di- and tri-acylglycerols, and fatty acid esters of hydroxy fatty acids (FAHFAs) (PubMed:27509211).
Preferentially hydrolyzes FAHFAs with the ester bond further away from the carboxylate. Unsaturated FAHFAs are hydrolyzed more quickly than saturated FAHFAs (PubMed:27509211).
Has an essential role in the complete digestion of dietary lipids and their intestinal absorption, along with the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
