Mouse CYP2E1 (Cytochrome P450 2E1) ELISA Kit
Mouse CYP2E1 (Cytochrome P450 2E1) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (CYP2E1) Cytochrome P450 2E1 ELISA Kit measures Cytochrome P450 2E1 in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse CYP2E1 antibody. CYP2E1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse CYP2E1 Antibody is added and binds to CYP2E1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CYP2E1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse CYP2E1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
A cytochrome P450 monooxygenase involved in the metabolism of fatty acids. Mechanistically, uses molecular oxygen inserting one oxygen atom into a substrate, and reducing the second into a water molecule, with two electrons provided by NADPH via cytochrome P450 reductase (NADPH--hemoprotein reductase). Catalyzes the hydroxylation of carbon-hydrogen bonds. Hydroxylates fatty acids specifically at the omega-1 position displaying the highest catalytic activity for saturated fatty acids. May be involved in the oxidative metabolism of xenobiotics. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
