The Mouse (DKK2) Dickkopf Related Protein 2 ELISA Kit measures Dickkopf Related Protein 2 in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse DKK2 antibody. DKK2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse DKK2 Antibody is added and binds to DKK2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated DKK2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse DKK2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Antagonizes canonical Wnt signaling by inhibiting LRP5/6 interaction with Wnt and by forming a ternary complex with the transmembrane protein KREMEN that promotes internalization of LRP5/6. DKKs play an important role in vertebrate development, where they locally inhibit Wnt regulated processes such as antero-posterior axial patterning, limb development, somitogenesis and eye formation.
