Mouse GDF7 (Growth Differentiation Factor 7) ELISA Kit
Mouse GDF7 (Growth Differentiation Factor 7) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (GDF7) Growth Differentiation Factor 7 ELISA Kit measures Growth/differentiation factor 7 in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse GDF7 antibody. GDF7 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse GDF7 Antibody is added and binds to GDF7 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated GDF7 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse GDF7. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Growth differentiation factor 7 (GDF7) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GDF7 gene. GDF7 belongs to the transforming growth factor beta superfamily that is specifically found in a signaling center known as the roof plate that is located in the developing nervous system of embryos. The roof plate is required for the generation of several classes of spinal cord dorsal interneurons; GDF7 specifically induces the formation of sensory neurons in the dorsal spinal cord from neural crest cells by generating signals within the roof plate. GDF7 is also known as bone morphogenic protein 12 (BMP-12). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
