The Mouse (HSF2) Heat Shock Factor Protein 2 ELISA Kit measures Heat Shock Factor Protein 2 in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse HSF2 antibody. HSF2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse HSF2 Antibody is added and binds to HSF2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated HSF2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse HSF2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
DNA-binding protein that specifically binds heat shock promoter elements (HSE) and activates transcription. In higher eukaryotes, HSF is unable to bind to the HSE unless the cells are heat shocked. HSF2 is expressed in a form that binds DNA constitutively but loses DNA binding by incubation at greater than 41 degrees C. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
