The Mouse (ICOSLG) Icos Ligand ELISA Kit measures ICOS ligand in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse ICOSLG antibody. ICOSLG present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse ICOSLG Antibody is added and binds to ICOSLG in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ICOSLG antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse ICOSLG. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Ligand for the T-cell-specific cell surface receptor ICOS. Acts as a costimulatory signal for T-cell proliferation and cytokine secretion; induces also B-cell proliferation and differentiation into plasma cells. Could play an important role in mediating local tissue responses to inflammatory conditions, as well as in modulating the secondary immune response by co-stimulating memory T-cell function.
