Mouse IDO1 (Indoleamine 2, 3-dioxygenase 1) ELISA Kit
Mouse IDO1 (Indoleamine 2, 3-dioxygenase 1) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (IDO1) Indoleamine 2, 3-dioxygenase 1 ELISA Kit measures Indoleamine 2,3-Dioxygenase 1 in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse IDO1 antibody. IDO1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse IDO1 Antibody is added and binds to IDO1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated IDO1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse IDO1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Catalyzes the first and rate limiting step of the catabolism of the essential amino acid tryptophan along the kynurenine pathway. Involved in the peripheral immune tolerance, contributing to maintain homeostasis by preventing autoimmunity or immunopathology that would result from uncontrolled and overreacting immune responses. Tryptophan shortage inhibits T lymphocytes division and accumulation of tryptophan catabolites induces T-cell apoptosis and differentiation of regulatory T-cells. Acts as a suppressor of anti-tumor immunity (PubMed: 25691885). Limits the growth of intracellular pathogens by depriving tryptophan. Protects the fetus from maternal immune rejection (Ref. 3).
