Mouse INOS (Inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase) ELISA Kit
Mouse INOS (Inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (INOS) Inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase ELISA Kit measures Inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse NOS2 antibody. NOS2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse NOS2 Antibody is added and binds to NOS2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated NOS2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse NOS2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Produces nitric oxide (NO) which is a messenger molecule with diverse functions throughout the body (PubMed: 7503239). In macrophages, NO mediates tumoricidal and bactericidal actions. Also has nitrosylase activity and mediates cysteine S-nitrosylation of cytoplasmic target proteins such PTGS2/COX2 (PubMed: 16373578). As component of the iNOS-S100A8/9 transnitrosylase complex involved in the selective inflammatory stimulus-dependent S-nitrosylation of GAPDH implicated in regulation of the GAIT complex activity and probably multiple targets including ANXA5, EZR, MSN and VIM (By similarity). Involved in inflammation, enhances the synthesis of proinflammatory mediators such as IL6 and IL8 (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
