Mouse KISS-1 (Kisspeptin 1) ELISA Kit
Mouse KISS-1 (Kisspeptin 1) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (KISS-1) Kisspeptin 1 ELISA Kit measures Kisspeptin 1 in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse KISS1 antibody. KISS1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse KISS1 Antibody is added and binds to KISS1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated KISS1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse KISS1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Metastasis suppressor protein. May regulate events downstream of cell-matrix adhesion, perhaps involving cytoskeletal reorganization. Generates a C-terminally amidated Peptide, metastin which functions as the endogenous ligand of the G-protein coupled receptor GPR54. Activation of the receptor inhibits cell proliferation and cell migration, key characteristics of tumor metastasis. The receptor is also essential for normal gonadotropin-released hormone physiology and for puberty. The hypothalamic KiSS1/GPR54 system is a pivotal factor in central regulation of the gonadotropic axis at puberty and in adulthood. Intracerebroventricular administration induces an increase in serum LH and FSH levels in prepubertal male and female as well as in adult animals. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
