Mouse KLK8 (Kallikrein 8) ELISA Kit
Mouse KLK8 (Kallikrein 8) ELISA Kit
The Mouse (KLK8) Kallikrein 8 ELISA Kit measures Kallikrein 8 in Mouse samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse KLK8 antibody. KLK8 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse KLK8 Antibody is added and binds to KLK8 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated KLK8 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse KLK8. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Serine protease which is capable of degrading a number of proteins such as casein, fibrinogen, kininogen, fibronectin and collagen type IV. Also cleaves L1CAM in response to increased neural activity. Induces neurite outgrowth and fasciculation of cultured hippocampal neurons. Plays a role in the formation and maturation of orphan and small synaptic boutons in the Schaffer-collateral pathway, regulates Schaffer-collateral long-term potentiation in the hippocampus and is required for memory acquisition and synaptic plasticity. Involved in skin desquamation and keratinocyte proliferation. Plays a role in the secondary phase of pathogenesis following spinal cord injury. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
